About the Author

Here is a little about me.  I'm a married, homeschooling mom of two wonderful but ornery little boys.  I'm also a full-time distance learning student through Liberty University's Distance Learning program.  My major there is religious studies.  In the past, I self-published a country music magazine called Kountry Licks.  I also did freelance writing for several entertainment publications, including Country Song Roundup, Modern Screen's Country Music, and American Songwriter.  I was fortunate to be able to interview some real legends in the field of country music - such as Doc Watson, Charley Pride, and Jonny Paycheck - and some at that time up-and-comers such as Brad Paisley and Mark Wills.  My freelancing has recently taken a back burner to family, work, and college.  I do, however, have an article appearing in an upcoming book anthology called Women of Passions.

What It's About...

There is controversery and questioning surrounding the death of actor Heath Ledger.  Mystery enshrines his short life.  Will we ever know the answers that unlock the secrets?  Heath Ledger: Bittersweet Memories and Tender Goodbyes - A Tribute  searches for answers while honoring this performer's lasting memory.  Unlike any other biography, it asks questions and offers possible answers from a biographical, spiritual, and at times controversial perspective.  In the end, it allows the reader to make up his or her own mind.

Why I'm Writing

Many will ask me why I'm writing a book about Heath Ledger.  To those who do not know me, this may sound very strange, but it is because I feel I am called to.  There is a long story that will be included in the introduction to the book that explains exactly why I feel I am called to write this book.

Was I a fan of Heath Ledger?  I have to answer that by saying I enjoyed his acting.  It's kind of strange.  I've never seen the movies that most people associate with him.  I've never seen A Knight's Tale.  I've never seen Brokeback Mountain.  In fact, the only movies that I have seen that he made are The Four Feathers, The Order, and Brothers Grimm.  But I did think his acting was brilliant in each of them.  I think, had he lived longer, he would have developed into a seasoned talent.  That said, I cannot wait to see The Dark Knight, even though (and perhaps because) I feel this character is something that had a horrible effect on him.

What I'm Doing Now

Right now, I'm in the process of searching for a publisher that may be interested in this type of book.  If you are that publisher, I can be e-mailed at coramdeo_intheeyesofGod@yahoo.com.  If I cannot find a publisher, I do plan to self-publish.  I am also in the process of writing a theological/apologetical book.  I am perfectly willing to self-publish both if need be.

I am also in the process of gathering information for interviews.  I truly would like to speak with those people who knew Heath best.  Any interviews that I am blessed enough to conduct, I do plan to print in question and answer format.  I feel this would be the best way to honor Heath Ledger as a human being and a great actor.  I never had the pleasure of meeting him.  Those that did know him can pay tribute to him much better than I would ever be able to.
